First, find what you want
Start with the firearm you are interested in. If you already know the manufacturer and model, great. If not, send me the product link and I can help you make sure we are talking about the same thing.
I always like having the exact model number or UPC when possible. It keeps everybody on the same page and cuts down on surprises.
Then choose the receiving FFL
When you order from an out-of-state seller, the firearm is generally sent to an FFL in your state so the transfer can be completed there.
If you want to use Coldbore, contact me before you order. I can make sure the seller has what they need and you know what to expect before the shipment is on the way.
Wait for me to contact you
This is the part where patience saves a headache. The carrier may show the package as delivered before I have had time to receive it into my records.
I will contact you when it is actually ready for the transfer. That is the green light to schedule your appointment.
Finish the transfer in person
When you come in, we handle the required paperwork and background-check process. Once the transfer can legally be completed, you take your firearm home.
For a first-time online buyer, that is really the whole picture: order it, have it sent to the FFL, wait for the call, then finish the transfer.
One thing I recommend every time
Before you click the final order button, send me the link. I would rather spend a minute looking at it with you than have you order the wrong model or send something to the wrong place.
I keep these guides simple on purpose. If you want to read the federal information directly, these are the sources I use:
Just ask me.
If you are not sure what applies to your situation, send me a message before you make the trip. I would rather answer a quick question than have you guessing.
